Location.  Russia is the biggest country in the world, located in eastern Europe and northern Asia. It shares borders with North Korea, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Norway (the longest border in the world.) Most of the European part of Russia occupied with the East European Plain. The northern slopes of the Caucasus (highest point - Mount Elbrus, 5642 m) is on the south of the country, in the north-west - Khibiny.  To the east of the Urals there is the vast West Siberian Plain, with Altay mountains on Southeast (the highest point is Beluha city, 4506 m.). Russia is washed by the waters of the Pacific and Arctic oceans, as well as the Baltic, Black, Azov seas of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caspian Sea, with all this it has it has the longest coastline (37 653 km). Ural Mountains and the Kuma-Manych basin, divide Russia into the European and Asian parts along the Pacific coast of the Far East - the mountains of Kamchatka (including Klyuchevskaya Sopka - 4750 m) and the Kuril islands with active volcanoes. More than 60% of the territory of the country are in the permafrost.

Climate. The most part of the Russia is located in a temperate continental climate zone, the Arctic Ocean’s islands and northern continental areas лежат are located in arctic and subarctic zones. Currency can be exchanged at banks and exchange offices (mainly U.S. dollars and euros).

Language. Russian is official language.

Documents. For foreign citizens, exclude the CIS countries and countries with the agreement on visa-free travel, has to have a visa. Foreign citizens can get Russian visa in their country, or  in the country where the alien has a residence permit or a work permit valid for at least 90 days. In the case of entry into the Russian Federation for more than 90 days when they apply must provide a certificate of the applicant's lack of HIV infection. This certificate is valid for three months from the date of the survey.

Customs regulations. The total amount of allowed import and export, Russian and foreign cash, bank and traveler's checks is $ 10,000. The goods and things for necessarily declaration: precious metals and stones in any form or condition (except personal jewelry) ammunition, explosives, radioactive, narcotic, psychotropic, poisonous and toxic substances, as well as potent drugs; artistic and cultural values, as well as the radio transmitter and receiver systems with operating frequencies above 9 kHz. It is possible to import duty-free works of art under the Declaration and subsequent registration with the Ministry of Culture. 

 Prohibited goods:

the import of:  print, film, photo and video pornography; as well as any products containing elements official or state secret propaganda of fascism, racial, national and religious hatred; endangered, protected, wild flora and fauna, their parts and products derived from them; vegetables and fruit without appropriate phytosanitary certificates.

the export of: ammunition, explosives, radioactive, narcotic, psychotropic, poisonous and toxic substances, as well as potent drugs; art and antiques (for export paintings, sculptures, old coins, medals and orders require a special permission of the Ministry of Culture, for the commemorative coins made ??of precious metals - a special permission of Central Bank).
