Guideline for the tourist visiting Ukraine

Climate. There is temperate-continental climate on the biggest part of Ukraine, except the Southern coast of Crimea, where prevails Mediterranean climate. Average January temperatures range from -8 C in the north-east to +4 C in the south of Crimea, July -, respectively, from 18 C to +24 C. Precipitation falls in the north-west 600-700 mm. a year, in the south-east - up to 300 mm., in the Crimean mountains - 1000-1200 mm., in the Carpathians - up to 1600 mm.

Documents.  Visa is not required for CIS citizens.  Free entry and transit through the territory of Ukraine, is also set for the Member States of the European Union, Switzerland, Japan, USA, Canada, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Vatican City, Iceland, Monaco, Norway, the Republic of San Marino, the Republic of Korea, if the period of their stay in Ukraine does not exceed 90 days. 

Documents required for citizens of other countries for Ukrainian visa: Passport, which expires at least 6 months after the expected returning from the country. Standard application form. 1 photo. Original invitation (guest, business or invitation from the Ukrainian tourist company).

Customs regulations. Allowed to bring in Ukraine:

а) provided oral declaration:

- foreign currency in cash in an amount not exceeding the equivalent of  $ 3,000;
-  checks in the amount of up to $ 1,000;

b) with designation on the customs declaration:

 -  foreign cash currency in an amount not exceeding the equivalent of $ 10,000;
-  checks issued by foreign banks and non-bank institutions in the amount of up to $ 50,000;

Allowed to export from Ukraine:

а) provided oral declaration:

-  foreign currency in cash or in an amount not exceeding the equivalent of $ 3,000

b) with designation on the customs declaration:
-  funds previously imported to Ukraine (with a customs declaration for their import);
-  foreign currency in cash or by check for an amount not exceeding the equivalent of $ 5000 – with the certificate of authorized bank (Form 01);
-  foreign currency cash and checks in excess of the above rules - based on individual license;
-  Ukrainian currency in an amount not exceeding  10,000gr, of which – 5000gr, notes and coins of base metal,  5000gr - in the form of jubilee and commemorative coins in gold and silver;
-  currency of Ukraine in the amount not exceeding the above standard - based on the individual license of the National Bank of Ukraine in the form of 03
Validity of the customs declaration - 1 year.

 

It is not recommended to carry a significant amount of cash, and if necessary - is to use travel checks and credit cards.
